 I
am out of the country this
month.
I
will be giving a vocal seminar
and concert on the evening
January 18th, 2012, in Athens,
Greece. Please help me to spread
the word and let me know if you
wish to attend. I will put it up
as an event on Facebook
where you can sign up. I plan to
focus the workshop on vocal
technique and on how to
communicate with an accompanist.
Pantelis Benetatos will be
accompanying me. He is a
wonderful pianist and he knows
the American songbook!
I will also be doing several
club appearances, including
January 29, Shelley Burns and
Pantelis Benetatos, 10PM-1AM,
Rodamo Cafe, Agiou Georgiou 43A,
Xalandri 15234.
February

I'll be singing with Doug Pauly
at the Zinfindel Grille. Yes,
I'll be suffering from jet lag,
big time. But, one must work :-)

Jazz
pianist Martan
Mann
writes: Wow, Shelley . . . total
fun! I really think that you are what
jazz singing is all about. Your singing
skill is excellent. You create music on
the spot. And . . . you are so much
fun. I know that all the musicians
enjoyed playing with you and Bill . . .
and the audience dug you as well.
Looking forward to our next gig. Best,
Martan :)

UPDATE
2008:
I had a very successful concert
at the Parafono
Jazz
Club.
It was so crowded, and the band
was really good. The legendary
Mario, of
Rebética
fame, came on stage with
me!
A
BIG THRILL was that on my
stopover in New York, I sang with
LES PAUL. He has a steady
Monday-night at the
Iridium
Jazz
Club.
I was invited to the stage and
sang I'm Old Fashioned and
then he and I did a duet of
It's been a Long, Long
Time.

Aug.
13, 2009:
Les
Paul
died today at age 94. I
feel so fortunate to
have met him and to have
made music with
him.

UPDATE
2009:
And this year on my New York
stopover at the Iridium
Jazz
Club,
I sang some numbers with
legendary jazz guitarist Bucky
Pizzarelli. WOW
:-)
